The transformation, undertaken by the Emirates Engineering Aircraft Appearance Centre, took 24 days to complete. It also included red engine cowls with the iconic white Emirates calligraphy, adding an extra touch of elegance to this custom Airbus A380 livery.

NBA-Themed Experiences Onboard Emirates A380

From November 1 to December 17, 2024, Emirates passengers will enjoy NBA-themed experiences on routes connecting 14 destinations across the U.S. and Canada. This initiative is part of the Emirates NBA Cup celebration and is available on one of only four custom-livery aircraft in Emirates’ fleet.

Inside the cabin, passengers will find co-branded headrests, custom drink coasters, and courtside-inspired menus across all travel classes. The A380’s renowned Onboard Lounge will also feature sports-themed refreshments. To enhance the in-flight experience, passengers can watch live broadcasts of the Emirates NBA Cup games via the Sport24 channel on the airline’s ice entertainment system.

Extending the NBA Experience to Emirates Airport Lounges

In addition to the NBA-themed flights, Emirates will offer specialized NBA-inspired menus in its airport lounges. These exclusive offerings will be available in major cities like Dubai, New York JFK, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Boston throughout the partnership period.

The Emirates NBA Cup: Tournament Overview

The Emirates NBA Cup kicks off on November 12, 2024, with an exciting doubleheader broadcast on TNT. Fans can watch the New York Knicks face the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Golden State Warriors battling the Dallas Mavericks at 10 p.m. ET.

Group play will take place on “Cup Nights” every Tuesday and Friday through December 3, 2024. During this period, teams will compete in four designated matches. The top eight teams will advance to single-elimination Knockout Rounds, with the Quarterfinals scheduled for December 10-11.

The tournament will conclude with the Semifinals on December 14, 2024, and the Championship match on December 17, 2024, held at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
