Organized by the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS), this prestigious gathering has attracted renowned sports scientists and health professionals from around the world. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the event runs from 25 to 27 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Organized with support from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), the Emirates Physiotherapy Society, and the Emirates Society of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, the event highlights the UAE’s role in advancing global sports science. In his opening speech, Sheikh Mansoor expressed appreciation for the Congress Scientific Committee’s efforts to select topics that enhance sports medicine practices worldwide.

Sheikh Mansoor noted the event’s large attendance, reflecting the global interest in sports medicine. He emphasized that hosting such a congress underscores the UAE’s growth in sports science and its commitment to world-class event management.

National Sports Strategy 2031 and Innovation in Health Promotion

The UAE National Olympic Committee (NOC), led by the Sports Medicine Committee, aligns the UAE sports medicine event with the National Sports Strategy 2031. This congress will feature sessions on emerging topics in athlete care, from sports injury rehabilitation to artificial intelligence applications in sports. Dr. Hashel Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee of the UAE NOC, highlighted that the congress serves as a platform to promote broader health initiatives.

As part of this year’s program, the first-ever Global Alliance Day for the Promotion of Physical Activity will be held. This event emphasizes the UAE NOC’s dedication to promoting health-focused activities within communities, aligning with its commitment to improving overall public well-being through sport.

With over 130 speakers and 16 sessions, the UAE sports medicine event explores groundbreaking innovations in sports injury treatment and athlete performance monitoring. Dr. Fabio Pigozzi, President of FIMS, noted that the congress brings together representatives from 118 national federations and committees. He praised the event’s role in sharing advances that support athlete health, prevent sports injuries, and ensure safe returns to training and competition.

Sheikh Mansoor toured the event’s exhibition, which featured the latest developments in sports science, including advanced sports injury management techniques.
